Building Community & Partnerships.

About BCAP

Building Community and Partnerships (BCAP) is a 501 c 3 nonprofit committed to strengthening individuals, grassroots leaders, and nonprofit organizations through capacity building, resource sharing, direct giving, and cross-sector collaboration.

BCAP was created in response to a reality many communities face: organizations working toward similar goals are often forced into competition for limited resources, while individuals and families navigating poverty struggle to access the support they need in moments of crisis.

BCAP works to close those gaps by mobilizing networks of people, institutions, and community leaders to share resources, coordinate efforts, and develop long-term solutions to systemic challenges.

The Vision

BCAP envisions a future where communities are connected resourced and empowered to solve their own challenge where collaboration replaces competition resources flow more equitably and systemic barriers that keep people trapped in poverty are dismantled.

These challenges require both immediate support and long-term systemic solutions.

BCAP Advances Community Well-being Through Four Interconnected Strategies:

The Innovation Initiative

We Innovate.

Through the BCAP Innovation Initiative, we design, test, and scale community-led solutions that strengthen families and expand economic opportunity. Our first initiative reimagines housing as a salary benefit by providing stable housing support to a single mother and licensed family child care provider.

This innovative workforce model helps recruit and retain home-based early childhood educators, expands access to quality childcare, and creates long-term economic stability for providers.

This initiative addresses several critical challenges at once by:

  • Expanding access to quality early childhood education.

  • Creating entrepreneurship opportunities for women.

  • Building long-term financial pathways for families.

  • Strengthening community-based childcare networks.

The BCAP Innovation Initiative reflects our core approach: mobilizing partners, community leaders, and resource providers to develop practical, community-driven solutions. By leveraging the power of collaboration, BCAP transforms shared knowledge and resources into innovative workforce models that strengthen families, expand economic opportunity, and build a more resilient early childhood system.

This pilot is the blueprint for the scalable, community-led solutions BCAP is committed to advancing across Boston and beyond.

“Because of BCAP, I can start my daycare. It’s no way to navigate by yourself. You need a team. Even with a team, sometimes there are struggles. But because of this pilot, I will be able to do so much. I can ask questions. I have the support I need to just be my best self, to take this to another level, to care for children unapologetically. I can love them. I’m happy. And that’s the bottom line.”
